Welcoming some German visitors!

At our meeting on Wednesday Cardiff University Rotaract had the pleasure of welcoming three students who have come all the way over from Germany! Carina and her two friends Martina and Stefan joined us for our meeting and we got to fill them in on what we have been up to over the past year and what we have planned for the next few months. After we finished filling them in Carina showed us some of the cool merchandise that her club back in Germany had, most of it made by Carina herself!

What did we discuss at our meeting? Well we talked about  our upcoming projects and Lukas told us about some great ideas he had for the future. We are looking forward to a busy few months! Below are just two of our upcoming projects.

Next month we will be helping Ninian Park Primary School to revamp their playground’s road safety signs and give their school garden a makeover. In addition to this two of our members (myself included!) have somehow ended up agreeing to run a 5km race for UNICEF on the 16th March, so if you all fancy a laugh you should come along and watch!

If you are interested in coming along to find out more about our club then please come along any Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. If you are free next week (26th February) we will be having a guest, Sarah Rees, come along to tell us some more about her experiences visiting the shelter for abused women in the Philippines that was the focus of our matching grant last year. It promises to be a great evening and we are all looking forward to it. It would be great to see dome new faces!
